Jena Woodhouse

Queensland-born Jena Woodhouse's publications include two poetry collections, Eros in Landscape (Jacaranda Press 1989)and Passenger on a Ferry (UQP 1994), and an award-winning novella for children, Metis, the Octopus and the Olive Tree (Jam Roll Press 1993, UQP Storybridge Series 1994).

Her short fiction and poetry, which are widely published in Australia as well as internationally, have also received awards. Poems appear in recent, current, or forthcoming issues of Antipodes (USA); Hecate; Idiom 23; Island; Overland; Social Alternatives; Stylus, and the anthology Kookaburra Shells: Port Curtis Literature, compiled and edited by Robyn Sheahan-Bright (Justified Text Publishing, 2006).

With Christina Houen, Jena Woodhouse recently co-compiled and co-edited the anthology Hidden Desires: Australian Women Writing, published by Ginninderra Press in October 2006, which also contains a selection of her work. She is currently working on a PhD in Creative Writing.
