Poems

*#1*

* *

*by buildings around rivers*

trace the contours - copper and iron

welded metal melt, everything buttressed

but the air inside them - above them

and under - and the chasing churn

leading from seas somewhere

stalled and stilted on watery planes

* *

*#2*

*those fleas that escaped *

if i am scratching

and you are scratching

and the moon is a ruby rashed

in the space

above the earth -

if my voice splits

in two, as schizophrenic

as before,

in multiple tongues

dancing naked

drawing shapes

on my face

on my legs

on my arms

on my teeth

on me -

why don't we go

make a baby?

* *

* *

*#3*

*nostrum*

today is laser day

i swallow two pills

then rest

on a bed of plastic

under hot lamps

in an empty box

my eyes draw maps

on my eyelids

i design

escape

*#4*

*lymph node*

the lump

on my

trunk where

bubble

pop

run river

that reflect

flooded

chunks of hair

and bone

* *

* *

* *

*#5*

*cerebrum cheese*

The folding

of

a membrane

from

the wall

of

a cavity

over

an organ

with

its back to my wall

is

something rotten

or

incomplete.
