Giving Up SmokingThe smell from the old cigarette factory hangs around the school yard, warm and familiar. Surely I can't be nostalgic about pollution? But when I see the John Players Wills sign being removed, and hear there'll be luxury apartments, I can't help but remember the first time you offered me a cigarette. Blowing smoke out the bedroom window into a night as soft and close as eternity. In my head you'll always be 1950's black and white. Cool, dangerous, and a habit I can't seem to break.
